Tosses In the Ring
It now seems the automotive arena will lose another once-promising
contender. The October 1st announcement by Roger Penske that
his attempts to secure new product[s] necessary to ensure Saturn’s
rebirth[sans G.M.] have failed. The Saturn brand and its many
quality dealers, employees and customers have little hope for
a savior. The consensus is if Penske could not find a way to
do it, it probably cannot be done.

No I haven’t strayed far afield into financial column
territory. I am referring to “sneakers” for your
vehicle, aka where the rubber meets the road. Tires are a
critical component of your vehicle, particularly as they directly
relate to safety and handling.

The car company named after an Ottawa Chieftain, began life
humbly as part of a plan to fill in some perceived gaps in
General Motors’ famous stepladder marketing scheme.
It seems that the powers within GM believed the price gap
between Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and Oakland had been too
broad.
